Bright Futures is a Tampa parent's biggest lever

Hillsborough County families qualify for the same state scholarship as everyone else in Florida, and the SAT score is the part that stops most students. GPA and service hours are usually handled. The score is the tiebreaker.

• 1190 earns Florida Medallion Scholars, roughly 75% of tuition, worth about $22,000

Do you have a location in Tampa?

Does USF require the SAT?

Yes. Florida never adopted test-optional admissions. Every school in the State University System, USF included, requires an SAT, ACT or CLT score. A Florida student without a test score does not have a complete application.
