Scholarship money tied to the SAT in Connecticut

Connecticut has no broad state scholarship that pays out automatically off an SAT cutoff; the state's main aid program, the Roberta B. Willis Scholarship, is primarily need-based (gated by a federal Student Aid Index cutoff), with a 1200 SAT or top-20%-class-rank threshold only as one eligibility screen into that need review, so score-tied money in Connecticut mostly comes from individual universities' own automatic merit grids.

Quick answers

What SAT score do you need for Yale?

There is no published minimum; the middle half of the reported group scored 1480 to 1560. A score at or above 1560 puts a student in the top quarter of that group. A score near 1480 is within the range, and grades, coursework and the rest of the application still decide the outcome.

Is Yale test-optional?

Yale lists its policy as: Required for 2026-27. Check the official admissions page for your entry term before choosing test dates.

What is Yale's acceptance rate?

3.9% (fall 2024, 2,227 admitted of 57,517 applicants). Rates vary by program and residency, so read the overall figure as context, not a personal prediction.

Does a score above the range guarantee admission?

No. A middle 50% is a description of last year's group, not a cutoff in either direction. It tells you where a score is competitive, which is the useful part for planning test dates.
